I have a puppy which now 6 mths old. how can i stop it licking all the time ?

if i or anybody tries to stroke it or even near it, it'll lick any bit, feet, hands, face. its becoming so distasteful and annoying that unless its licking can be stopped, i'll be forced to re-home it , which will break my heart. pleez. can anybody offer advice to help me overcome this problem
