Can i get some opinions on my latest short story? (FIRST PARAGRAPHS)?

The details and suspense are excellent, however, there is something about the point of view here that is bothering me. I'm wondering if it would catch my attention more if it wasn't written in 3rd, but 1st person. I really can't put my finger on it, but there is something I don't like about the voice or third person perspective. I love the rest of the story though and it has a lot of potential.
